Custom-built Luxury in Old Highland Park
The Ravello, a luxury mid-rise residence to be constructed on the northeast corner of Lomo Alto Drive and Fairway Avenue, will consist of six units, two on each of three floors, averaging about 5,000 square feet each. HPISD Looks to Fill Up to 90 Teaching Slots
The district hopes to hire between 60-90 more teachers like Bogdovitz from an expected pool of more than 400 applicants as at this year’s job fair, which will be held March 29 at the middle school.

University Park Artist Makes Top 20 in New Yorker Contest
"Nearly 300 drawings poured in to suggest redefinitions of Eustace Tilley, "the presiding dandy" of The New Yorker magazine.
Entries ranged from the "erotic to the pontifical," according to staff. There was "Leather Daddy Eustace" by an artist from California. And "Torched Tilley" by a Floridian.
Jennifer Culbertson of University Park submitted "Henri Touleustace La Tilley" at the last minute.
The magazine ran a few of the winners in its anniversary issue, which portrays Eustace as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on the cover. Other winners were posted on the magazine's Web site. Two other winners were from Texas – Ben Rollman of Pfugerville and David DeGrand of Fort Worth." - Dallas Morning News

SMU offers job to June Jones
SMU offered Hawaii coach June Jones between $1.7 million and $2 million to become its football coach, according to two sources.
Jones became a candidate in late December, and SMU's interest has intensified since Hawaii ended its 12-1 season with a 41-10 loss to Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
Hawaii has not yet extended Jones' contract, which ends June 30, though Hawaii's chancellor reportedly confirmed the school's intent to do so. Dallas Morning News, Thursday, January 3.

Dallas voters endorse Trinity Toll Road. The vote means the city's Trinity River project, an ambitious plan to transform the barren river corridor, will proceed as planned. The top five upscale neighborhoods in Dallas, Texas are not really debatable. Everyone knows, where the hoighty toighty dwell: Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Turtle Creek and Kessler Park. These areas are hard to get into, and filled to brim with politics, politics, politics. So, if you're game for playing with the rich and sometimes famous of Big "D," put on designer duds, squash your big hair (that's so--yesterday), and don your fake smile for life in the pristine communities of Dallas, where old money rules.
Highland Park - Officially part of the Park Cities, which encompasses Highland Park and University Park. Highland Park is the center of Dallas socialite activities. Good luck finding a home in Highland Park for under $1 Million. The homes, while crammed next to each other like sardines, are opulent in acutriments and historical architecture. Much new construction is underway as new folks move in and refurbish old homes that can be purchased for a meager $656 per square foot as opposed to luxury homes in other upscale Dallas neighborhoods going for $143 per square foot.

Red Light Cameras in University Park
According to the City of University Park, Red light cameras are now operating at two University Park intersections. The red light cameras located at Lovers Lane and Preston Road as well as Lovers Lane and Dickens Avenue will assist in monitoring traffic light violations. drivers violating the street light laws in University Park will receive tickets beginning Thursday, February 1st. The red light cameras were installed after a community survey deemed them necessary. Fines will range from $75 to $150.
